Deep Indigo/Gold Hydrangea Intaglio Print
A delicate hand-pulled intaglio print featuring a hydrangea, created using a traditional printmaking process.
Intaglio is a printmaking technique where an image is carved, etched, or incised into a printing plate. Ink is worked into these recessed lines, while the surface of the plate is wiped clean. The plate is then pressed onto damp paper under pressure, transferring the ink and creating the finished print. This process gives intaglio prints their distinctive fine lines, rich details, and subtle texture.
Each print is individually printed by hand, making every piece a little unique. Slight variations in ink, texture, and impression are part of the character of a handmade print.
